Description
The clean, green, unspoiled environment of New Zealand is nowhere epitomised better than at Te Henga - the wild and rugged surf beach on Auckland’s West Coast.
The Maori named this beach Te Henga for the way the sand dunes formed, like the upturned hull of a canoe. The beauty and romance of this beach have been captured and are reflected in our wines.
Te Henga Wines are a pure expression of New Zealand.
Region: Marlborough
Recommended Food: Pleasant on it’s own though it makes a nice partner for fresh fish served with a summery salad. Also worth trying with smoked salmon frittatas.
Recommended Cellaring: 0-4 years
Production Notes: The grapes are crushed and pressed upon arrival. To enhance the varietal flavour expression. Fermentation takes place in refrigerated stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures using a variety of yeasts. After 2 months on lees the blend was assembled and bottled.
Tasting Notes: The aroma is gooseberry and cut grass with underlying tropical fruits. The palate is soft, mouth-filling and juicy – good fruit intensity with red apples and melon standing out. Well balanced acidity and herbal notes combine to make this a delightfully refreshing wine.
