G.D. Vajra Rosa Bella 750 ML

Rosabella is a rosé de saignée, produced with the lighted touch in order to preserve the lightness and fragrance of our grapes. First produced between 2004 and 2007, Rosabella is a focus on Nebbiolo, with small amounts of Barbera and Dolcetto. Vajra Rosabella, this year is a blend of 90% Nebbiolo and 10% Barbera, lifts from the glass with a remarkably pretty yet understated display of ripe pear offset by white smoke minerality, a hint of lime, and spring florals. On the palate, it coasts across the senses, delivering a more tart fruit sensation, further accentuated by saline-minerals and brisk acids. The finish is medium in length, yet buzzing with energy and neatly framed by hints of lemon and green apple. The estate of G.D. Vajra, situated in Vergne the highest village in the Commune of Barolo, was established in 1972 by Giuseppe Domenico. Milena and Aldo Vaira are the current owners. Both have worked the vineyards since the early 1970s. Vajra currently owns 40 sustainably farmed hectares in such strategic spots as Bricco delle Viole, Fossati, La Volta, Coste di Vergne. The vineyards are planted with Nebbiolo, Dolcetto and Barbera at elevations between 350-400 meters, which results in distinctive and aromatic wines. Their philosophy remains faithful to the traditional wines of Piedmont. "I try to make wines that give people joy. In the past wine was a food, it was necessary for sustenance.
