Description
This is an easy-going Prosecco with lively tones of stone fruit and citrus. The wine is informal and tonic which makes it perfect as an appetizer wine or with friends on a lazy summer afternoon.
Friuli, a land located in North East Italy, between the Adriatic and the Carnic and Julian Alps, where our vineyards spread over an area of 100 hectares, half of them in the ancient lands of Aquileia and as many again at Sdricca di Manzano, an area irrigated by the Natisone river. Aquileia, established by the Romans in 181 BC and which became one of the ten most important towns of the empire, is located in the middle of the Friulian plain. The wine-making tradition of the town therefore derives from its links with Roman culture, which was able to establish the town as a trading centre for the people who lived along the banks of the Danube and who, in Aquileia, found products from the sea as well as products from the land, such as wine and oil. Ca’ Tullio is based in Aquileia. It is here that we process the grapes from our vineyards in the Colli Orientali del Friuli and in Aquileia, both areas having D.O.C. recognition. The Ca’ Tullio Winery is a majestic building, built at the beginning of the century, which was formerly used for drying tobacco and is today one of the last examples of industrial archaeology. In 1994, it was decided to restore the building to its former beauty, taking care to maintain its architectural forms. The winery is surrounded by land which has been cultivated since 1760, for wine production which started back in 1920.
