Product description
Andover wines are pure expressions of their varieties and the singular terroir of our estate vineyards. Our Pinot Noir is high toned, open and perfumed with intense aromatics and layers of ripe red fruit. Flavors of strawberries, raspberries and cherries blend elegantly with an underlying stratum of vanilla from 12 months of aging on French oak. The tannins are soft and silky and the finish is elegant and graceful.
About the producer
Andover Estate wines are crafted from grapes grown on estate-owned vineyards in the Arroyo Seco AVA of Monterey County. This makes each glass a pure expression of the terroir, or land, of the Monterey region. Each morning, cold marine air from the Monterey Bay drifts down the valley in a thick fog that burns off by midday. In the late afternoon, howling winds from the Pacific Ocean slow photosynthesis and the low rainfall ensures that vine vigor is well-controlled. These unique conditions allow our grapes to mature slowly on the vine, leading to intense flavor development, heightened varietal character and lively acidity. Each year we produce limited bottlings of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from this special, rocky place. The wines of Andover Estate are independently certified sustainable by the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance (CSWA) through their Certified California Sustainable Winegrowing (CCSW) program and the international organization GLOBAL G.A.P through their G.A.P. (Good Agricultural Practices) certification. CSWA is a third-party organization that sets forth best practices in environmental stewardship, conservation of natural resources, and socially equitable business practices as well as conducting yearly, independent audits of participants in their CCSW program. GLOBAL G.A.P. is the internationally recognized standard for farm production whose goal is safe and sustainable agricultural production.
